Manipulation Under Anesthesia Chiropractor Macomb/Shelby Township/Clinton Township

Manipulation Under Anesthesia, also known as MUA is a gentle, yet intensive, noninvasive outpatient procedure for acute and chronic conditions. This procedure is used by specially trained chiropractors and orthopedic surgeons.

Manipulation under anesthesia, also known as MUA is a procedure that helps a number of chronic conditions such as neck pain, mid back pain, low back pain, muscle spasm, decreased spinal range of motion, chronic fibromyalgia, sciatica, disc bulges, failed back surgery, chronic headaches, and nerve entrapment. Most patients selected for this procedure have received at least six to eight weeks of conservative care such as chiropractic, or physical therapy with minimal relief. By administering spinal manipulations while the patient is under light anesthesia, previously painful adjustments and movements are accomplished quickly and pain free. This helps to improve and restore range of motion. Sedation is necessary in order to shut off the muscle spasm cycle and pain perceiving nerves. This allows complete muscle relaxation, allowing the MUA certified chiropractor gently manipulate the joints to restore range of motion, reduce restrictive scar tissue, and reduce the misalignment of the spine. The procedure typically lasts 15 to 20 minutes and is performed in a state licensed out patient surgical center. MUA is performed by a medical team which includes an anesthesiologist, MUA certified physicians, and high tech registered nurses (RNs). The MUA procedure is most effective when repeated three days consecutively. After the procedure the patient should experience an immediate increase in range of motion and dramatic pain reduction. The patient may experience some temporary muscle soreness similar to that of completing an intense exercise session. After the MUA procedure the patient should follow a rehabilitation program developed by your chiropractor in order to maintain the results. Prior to treatments the patient must undergo a screening process to determine if MUA is a viable option for the patient. The screening process includes a medical history and physical examination, as well as diagnostic testing such as x-rays, MRI scans, or CT scans to support the need for treatment. Dr. Chris McNeil is a certified MUA chiropractor. If you are suffering from a chronic condition including neck pain, back pain, chronic muscle spasm, decreased spinal range of motion, fibromyalgia, sciatica, nerve entrapment, failed back surgery, chronic headaches, frozen shoulder, or any condition related to injuries sustained in a car accident please contact McNeil Chiropractic to see how Dr. McNeil can help. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Treatment Macomb/Shelby/Clinton Township

Do you suffer from chronic pain everyday? Do you use pain relieving drugs with no relief? Are you considering back surgery? If so, then you need to know about this non-surgical breakthrough medical treatment called spinal decompression therapy.

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment for chronic back pain. Decompression treatment works by slowly and gently stretching the spine, which takes the pressure off compressed discs, vertebrae, and pinched nerves. By stretching the spine and taking the pressure off damaged discs, nutrients and oxygen are returned to the inside of the discs allowing the damaged fibers to begin to heal. Spinal decompression is most effective for anyone suffering from back pain, sciatica, leg pain, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, numbness, neck pain, and much more. The most common condition treated with spinal decompression is chronic back pain. This pain is often caused by disc bulges or herniated discs. Car accidents, work injuries, or daily repetitive routines can cause disc bulges, spinal compression, and pinching on surrounding nerves. Decompression treatment takes the pressure off the damaged discs and vertebrae to provide pain relief. This treatment allows the bulging disc to return back to its original size and helps spinal vertebrae to remain in a normal position. Statistics show that spinal decompression treatment is highly effective for long term pain relief. Decompression treatments are primarily used by chiropractors to treat chronic back pain and avoid painful, unnecessary back surgery. Spinal surgery for the treatment of herniated discs or vertebrae compression often yields poor results and provides little pain relief. Also, spinal surgery has many risks involved.
McNeil Chiropractic specializes in spinal decompression therapy. If you are suffering from back pain, neck pain, sciatica, numbness, leg pain, arm pain, herniated discs, bulged discs, degenerative disc, disease or if you have been injured in a work or car accident, we can help. Simple tests and exams can determine if spinal decompression therapy is right for you. Dr. McNeil uses decompression postural traction to provide relief from painful symptoms associated with spinal conditions and correct these conditions non-surgically over a short period of time. Let Dr. McNeil help you regain a normal lifestyle and healthy spinal position with spinal decompression therapy, postural traction, and postural exercises.
